ALAINA W.

A smart and curious purple belt who brings enthusiasm into everything she does. Her karate journey began after a summer camp activity sparked her interest in the sport. Wanting to learn more, Alaina asked her aunt to look for a dojo, a decision that led her to Superkid Karate and quickly became one she never regretted. In training, she especially enjoys katas and takedowns, where she can develop focus, balance, and control while challenging herself both mentally and physically. Alaina is one of our most avid and consistent tournament competitors. Her hard work has led to impressive results, including 4 gold medals and 2 silver medals in kata, as well as a bronze medal in sparring.

Outside of karate, she leads a very full and active life. She began piano lessons at age seven and is currently working toward RCM Level 5, sings in her school choir, and participates on her school’s basketball and track and field teams. She has completed swimming programs and can confidently swim all four strokes, has been golfing for several years and will be joining a junior golf tour this summer. Recently. she picked up snowboarding after nearly becoming a competitive ski racer. Academically, Alaina also attends a weekly math class and has earned two awards from the Mathematica Centrum Contest.

When she is not training or studying, Alaina enjoys cooking, gaming, building puzzles and LEGO, watching TV, but most importantly, spending time with her family. At such a young age she already has a love for traveling, as she finds inspiration in history, different cultures, and beautiful sceneries. At home, she is a dedicated animal lover who enjoys caring for her Golden Retriever, Sumo, and her cat, Wonton. One day, she hopes to have a chameleon as well.

Alaina is currently in Grade 5 at Bayview Glen Independent School. Looking ahead, she aspires to become a chemical engineer, inspired by her love of science, problem-solving, and understanding how different materials work together to create new solutions. Driven by her eagerness to learn and positive spirit Alaina shows all the signs of a bright future and exciting achievements ahead.
